CLIENT: Applied Cytometry
PROJECT: e-Commerce Software website

BACKGROUND: Applied Cytometry is a medical software development company based near Sheffield. They’ve been building and selling software to the NHS for the last 20 years.
BRIEF: I was invited by the marketing team at Applied Cytometry to put in a bid for a new company website and e-commerce overhaul. The new site was to follow brand guidelines but there was still flexibility to be creative. I was also requested to manage and maintain several other partner website which I was happy to do as I manage my own server for UK clients. My proposal was accepted and I worked along side the marketing and IT departments to design and build the new site.

The images below show the final live site on two device widths. The website is built responsively, i.e. it moves and adapts depending on the width of the device/screen viewing the site. The coding for this project and my others is always completely bespoke conforming to the latest 2021/2022 guidelines. No wasted code from pre-built themes or templates is loaded, causing site bloating and hindering search rankings.

SEO: Maintenance
When a site is up and running; performing well in searches with relevant content, sadly it’s only a matter of time before your you start losing position. The thought is that Google deems your site less relevant if the content is rarely updated. A business that is successful has to constantly evolve to things happening; the website should reflect this. Stagnant content suggests a dead business and irrelevant services or information. Page content needs to be kept fresh to ensure ranking position is held. A site that is built to perform in search rankings must be optimised to load quick enough for it not to be penalised.
